Security Guard - Part Time

Overview

Under the supervision of the Safety and Security Manager, the Security Guard - Part time performs a variety of routine security related duties for New Horizon Family Health Services, Inc. Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment of the Center.

• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, access points and permitting entry.
• Monitors and controls access to restricted areas.
• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances. Obtains help by sounding alarms and/or calling 911.
• Responds to requests for assistance related to safety and security.
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, and restraining trespassers.
• Controls traffic by directing drivers.
• Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
• Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities, interviewing witnesses, and obtaining signatures.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Travel between NHFHS sites to ensure that standard concepts, practices and procedures for security and safety are being kept.
• Assists with the completion of bank deposits at all sites on a regular basis.
• Assists Safety and Security Manager with conducting and recording Fire Drills for each location at least twice yearly.
• Observes company dress code.

Education

• REQUIRED:
  
  Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.

• PREFERRED:
  Associates degree or 2 years experience military, police or security

Experience

• REQUIRED:
  
  Minimum of one year experience as a Security Guard or in a related area

• PREFERRED:
  Two years experience as a Security Guard, Police or Military
