SummaryResponsible for providing consultative sales and service to customers seeking health and ancillary insurance products and information. Accepts payments from customers, assists with wellness education. Regularly engaged in outside sales.
LocationThis position is full-time (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday in a typical office environment. You will work an 8-hour shift scheduled during our normal business hours of 8:30AM-5:30PM. It may be necessary, given the business need to work occasional overtime. This role is located in our Greenville, South Carolina location, 1000 Executive Center Drive Greenville, SC 29616.
What You Will DoPromotes individual insurance products at retail stores, community events, sales events, and ad-hoc outings. Analyzes prospective customer needs and matches appropriate company products and services. Receives and handles payments from customers.
Presents and explains various recommended products, benefits, features, and alternatives to the customer. Explains company sales, medical underwriting, and enrollment processes to set realistic customer expectations.
Generates and acts upon leads for new sales and the sales of replacement and add-on products. Initiates telephonic follow-up and/or outreach.
Schedules appointments for sales and service visits; conducts group and individual information sessions. Assists with wellness education and conducts Personal Health Assessments (PHAs).
Required
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalentRequired
Work Experience:
1 year retail, sales, and/or marketing experience.Required
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to develop/maintain effective relationships with potential customers. Knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, and the marketplace. Effective presentation and customer service skills. Analytical or critical thinking skills. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Effective organizational skills. Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.Required Software and Tools: Microsoft Office.
Required License and Certificate: Department of Insurance Licensure must be obtained within 60 days of hire in state employed. Licensure must be maintained while in job. Other licensures and certifications may be required and maintained by specific areas.
