What does it mean to be a Dealer Sales Assistant at GLS?

The Dealer Sales Assistant is a key resource for creating and maintaining professional and profitable relationships with dealer customers. This role is responsible for driving quality applications and capturing deals that meet the company’s risk and profitability guidelines.

How will you drive value within the organization as a Dealer Sales Assistant?
  • Develop and maintain positive business relationships with dealers through daily conversations and solicitations
  • Provide exceptional customer service, effective and timely communications, and responsiveness to all credit processing questions and inquiries
  • Educate dealer representatives on company products including how to structure applications to ensure optimal success with the program
  • Establish and track monthly purchase objectives for assigned dealers
  • Maintain consistent communication and coordinate efforts with local Area Sales Manager(s) to ensure that the dealer is being properly serviced
  • Foster a collaborative culture that facilitates the achievement of business plan objectives by working closely with other associates and members of management
  • Maintain electronic records and files that support work performed, results, and outcomes
What should you already know to be successful as a Dealer Sales Assistant?
  • High School diploma required. Associate Degree preferred
  • Experience in the automotive industry preferred
  • Strong sales skills required; ability to think quickly in a dynamic environment and overcome resistance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage highly sensitive and confidential information, interact at all levels within the organization, and build cross-functional partnerships
  • Intrinsically motivated with demonstrated ability to take initiative, identify needs, make recommendations for improvement, see recommendations through implementation, and evaluate improvements for effectiveness
  • Team player that can adapt in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of standard business applications such as Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn new applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: friendly and tactful with the ability to influence others, exercise sound judgment, and manage conflict
Employment Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Talk and hear to exchange accurate information
  • Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading
  • The position does not require travel
  • This is a position where business needs will dictate the exact work schedule, which may vary. Generally, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 10:00 am - 7:00 pm.
