Position: Account Manager - Upstate SC / Western NC

Carotek, a Sun Source company, provides process equipment solutions for the industrial, commercial and municipal markets in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and Virginia. Carotek represents over 85 manufacturers as their process equipment distributor, representative, and repair center for pumps, blowers, heat exchangers, valves, instrumentation, IIoT, steam, hydronics and municipal products.

Summary

This position is responsible for executing sales strategy and initiating face to face contact with existing and potential customers in a specified territory for the sale of Carotek mechanical products and services, including pumps, blowers, heat exchangers, steam, and filtration product portfolios.

Candidates must reside in the territory that they will cover, which is Central to Upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina. Greenville is the ideal location for this position but other places of residence within the territory will be considered.

Acting as a consultative business partner, problem solver, trusted advisor and technical expert in the application of our product the person in this position will assist customers in the application of the products and services to meet their needs resulting in revenue generation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Calls on end-users such as engineers, technicians and supervisory personnel in Industrial, Commercial and/or Municipal accounts providing process solutions and application advice on our products
  • Calls on architectural and engineering firms who service our end‑user customer base conducting informational training sessions on our products and their application
  • Establish effective relationships with customers to gain their trust and confidence in applying our products
  • Grow territory by increasing penetration of existing accounts and developing new accounts
  • Review specifications, application requirements and other documents and work closely with Inside Sales for preparation of resulting quotations
  • Advise Inside Sales personnel as to margins to utilize for particular accounts or projects
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner
  • Provide technical support for customers in the proper use, operation and maintenance of our equipment
  • Participate in local job‑related professional organizations such as ISA, WEF, ASHRAE and ASPE
  • Monitor, analyze and communicate monthly sales data to contribute to product and service planning
  • Participate in sales forecasting and planning for the assigned territory
  • Maintain CRM database
  • Maintain strong principal relationships
  • Attend factory training sessions and trade shows for products represented
  • Communicate with co‑workers, management, customers and others in a professional and courteous manner

Work Environment

The employee's office will be from their own home but they will be traveling to customer locations three to four days a week. While performing the duties of this job at a customer’s site, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat. The noise level in these work environments may be loud.
