Vista - Expo​/Server Assistant

Overview

Maintain excellent customer service in its atmosphere to ensure guest satisfaction and a return visit. Expo/Server assistants are required to be detailed in every aspect of their work while maintaining an efficient pace and assisting in keeping waste and spillage to a minimum.

• Provide guests with water, coffee/tea, and throughout the meal.
• Organize the Expo window and read tickets fully to ensure the correct dish reaches each guest.
• Have a thorough understanding of the menu.
• Run food and manage table and seat numbers throughout the restaurant.
• Remove used and unneeded dishes and glassware from guests’ tables to the dish area; scrape and stack dishes.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of all common areas and service stations; clean up spilled food, drinks, broken dishes, and remove empty bottles for recycling or trash.
• Re‑set all tables in the assigned section as guests depart; assist server as needed; respond to guest requests and communicate with the server immediately.
• Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as assigned by management.
• Monitor and observe guests’ dining experience, ensuring they are satisfied with the food and service; respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
• Be ready and willing to assist fellow staff members as situations arise.
• Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous experience in full service restaurants preferred, but not required.

• Ability to communicate and understand English.
• Must speak English fluently and be able to write basic English.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
• Punctuality and reliable attendance, including reliable transportation.
• Honesty and integrity; hardworking.
• Possess good hygiene; coordinated, efficient, multi‑tasking, organized, and accurate.
• Work in a team environment and provide public service in a calm, courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
