Base pay range

$12.00/hr - $16.00/hr

A food runner helps create a warm and friendly environment while delivering food to guests at the table. Helps servers prepare for each course by clearing unused/dirty dishes and bringing new silverware/plates to table. Is responsible for communicating with the kitchen about orders and order changes.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Running food in a timely and professional manner
• Treating guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction
• Helping servers get ready for each new course
• Observing tables and keeping track of clean, dirty, and occupied tables
• Cleaning and organizing expo station
• Help prepare go orders, if applicable
• Performing other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)

• Excellent communication skills (verbally interacts with management, servers, team members and guests)
• Must be able to read, write, and determine wait time based on Company’s procedures
• Must visually scan restaurant for clean, unoccupied tables
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; stoop; bend; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to wash hands and answer phones.

The employee will occasionally encounter hazards, including slipping and tripping. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
