Provides primary health care to a specific patient population within the guidelines of written protocols. Follows established nursing standards, procedures, and practices.

• Obtains medical histories or performs physical examinations. 15%
• As appropriate to area of expertise, provides health maintenance care for adults, including annual physicals; provides well child care, including screening and immunizations; provides prenatal care and family planning services. 15%
• Diagnoses, treats, and monitors chronic diseases such as diabetes or high blood pressure. 15%
• Collaborates with physician and other health professionals as needed. 15%

  Writes orders for the interprets laboratory studies, x-rays, special tests, medications, treatments, and other matters pertaining to patients' care. 15%
• Prescribes medications and other treatments. 15%

• Enhances professional growth and development through such activities as professional affiliations; participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops; and review of current literature.
• Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with established standards.
• Promotes positive health behaviors and self care skills through education or counseling.
• Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. 10%

Master's Degree - Nursing;
Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent

• SC Nurse Practitioner
• Prescriptive Authority South Carolina Nursing License
• South Carolina Official Recognition Nurse Practitioner
• South Carolina Controlled Substance license;
  Federal DEA license
