About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Production Manager to lead and launch a new wire harness assembly line. This leader will oversee all 2nd shift operations, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety expectations are consistently met. The ideal candidate is experienced in supervising assembly teams, optimizing workflow, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead, manage, and develop a growing 2nd shift production team, including assemblers, technicians, and support staff.
Start up and establish all processes, KPIs, workflows, and standards for a newly launching wire harness assembly line.
Oversee daily production activities to ensure on-time delivery
, labor efficiency, quality output, and adherence to customer specifications.Implement and maintain Lean manufacturing principles
, visual controls, and standardized work procedures.Partner closely with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to troubleshoot issues, reduce defects, and improve throughput.
Monitor and report on shift performance, escalating challenges and recommending solutions.
Enforce and model strict safety standards
, ensuring compliance with OSHA and internal policies.Conduct training, performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions as needed.
Maintain accurate production records, staffing schedules, and shift communications.
Drive a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
3–5+ years of production leadership experience in manufacturing;
wire harness or cable assembly experience preferred
.Proven experience managing an assembly line or similar hands-on production environment.
Strong understanding of Lean, 5S, and quality control methodologies.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, or production documentation.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Comfortable managing a team in a high-mix, fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Ability to work the full 2nd shift schedule (3:00 PM – 1:30 AM, Monday–Thursday).
