CNC Programmer / Manufacturing Support Engineer
Location: Onsite
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week | First shift (approx. 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; flexibility on exact hours)
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support manufacturing operations through advanced CNC programming, shop floor support, and continuous process improvement. This role involves working closely with manufacturing engineering, operators, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities- Generate and maintain CNC programs using NX-CAM or equivalent CAM software, including multi-axis milling, turning, grinding, and/or EDM.
- Verify and validate new CNC programs prior to shop floor release using Vericut.
- Provide CNC programming support to Manufacturing Engineers and assist with operator training during new or rebuilt machine startups and process improvements.
- Deliver daily shop floor support, including CNC troubleshooting and program optimization.
- Support tooling and fixturing requirements associated with CNC machine tools.
- Develop and maintain workstation instructions and standardized methods for CNC-related processes.
- Initiate and lead process improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional team members as required.
- Work independently and collaboratively within a matrixed, team-based organization.
- Adapt and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while driving positive change.
- 3+ years of experience with NX CAM (NX1953 or later).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Machine Tool Technology.
- Experience machining high-temperature superalloys used in aerospace or heavy-duty gas turbine components.
- Hands-on experience with Vericut.
- At least 1 year of experience with advanced machine tool controls, including:
- Sub-routines (macros)
- Renishaw probing routines
- Variable-based programming
- Closed Loop Machining (CLM)
- Strong familiarity with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, and Siemens Sinumerik ONE.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Above-average shop math skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
