Responsibilities
  • As part of our team, the Safety Professional will provide HSE support and leadership to an EPCM project at a client facility in Saint Francisville, LA. You’ll serve as a business partner working with the HSE Director, HSE Manager, Project Manager, and Construction Manager to lead HSE excellence and deliver a project that ensures no worker injuries or negative impacts to our client’s business continuity.
  • Support Beyond Zero performance that is inclusive of the Line of Business’ (LOB) vision and strategic plans, and provide overall leadership, management and direction to the team and client assigned.
  • Own and maintain open communication with the HSE Director and HSE Manager, as well as peer HSE team members, to provide technical resources guidance, ensure alignment, and assure consistent implementation of HSE process tools that support project HSE strategic plans and objectives.
  • Provide visible support and leadership to all client and stakeholders by offering interpretation, training, technical review and support, regulatory guidance and governance oversight to ensure alignment and consistent implementation of the Jacobs HSE program.
  • Lead or support incident notification, investigation and reporting processes, and facilitate injury management and return-to-work processes.
  • Develop and review subcontractor hazard assessments and deliverables; participate as required in operational readiness reviews or other forums relevant to project success.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure project travel remains focused on project site needs; anticipate additional travel for future assignments within the US or North America as required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks: supporting HSE staff in the field, providing leadership to Project and Construction Managers and other field staff, ensuring subcontractor success, and modeling an inclusive, collaborative culture with the client.
  • Engage in a leadership style that fosters a culture of inclusion and care for craft workforce stakeholders, developing rapport, partnership, and a communication style that engenders confidence and trust with the client.
  • Maintain flexibility, excellent communication across a wide range of stakeholders, empathy, and dedication to delivering a project approach that ensures workers go home safely every day.
  • Model Jacobs Beyond Zero expectations in the field where work takes place and in relationship-building with team members delivering the project.
  • Be ready to take on this challenge and contribute as a key member of the team.
Qualifications
  • HSE certification and/or associate degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering or related field
  • A minimum of 8 years of demonstrated professional experience in a similar role managing Construction Health and Safety
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated construction experience managing subcontractors in Health and Safety in Construction with demo
  • OSHA 500 series certification and experience with managing and conducting safety training
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • Demonstrated interpersonal relations and personnel management skills
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulatory compliance, including all federal, state and local agencies requirements
