About the RoleThe Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing strategic and hands-on HR support to a regional group of approximately 200 employees. This role oversees all core HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, compliance, onboarding/offboarding, and organizational development, while serving as a trusted advisor to managers and employees. The HR Manager will directly supervise one HR team member and partner closely with leadership to drive a positive, compliant, high-performance culture.
Responsibilities- Employee Relations & Leadership Support
- Serve as the primary HR business partner for regional leaders, managers, and employees.
- Provide guidance on performance management, coaching, corrective action, and conflict resolution.
- Conduct investigations in partnership with senior HR leadership, ensuring objective and timely outcomes.
- Support organizational changes, restructures, and workforce planning.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple states in the region.
- Oversee HR audits, documentation, and accurate HRIS data.
- Manage leave of absence process (FMLA, state leaves, ADA interactive process).
- Maintain employee files, confidentiality, and compliance standards.
- Partner with managers on goal-setting, reviews, and development plans.
- Support succession planning and identify skill gaps within the region.
- Drive initiatives to strengthen employee engagement and team culture.
- Support rollout of company-wide programs, surveys, and HR initiatives.
- Provide training to managers and employees on HR policies, performance, and expectations.
- Monitor pay practices for internal equity and compliance.
- Manage and mentor one HR direct report, HR Specialist.
- Provide coaching, development, and workload guidance to ensure excellent service delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree, a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field a plus
- Optional HR certifications
- 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations.
- Experience supporting multi-state employee populations preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, etc.).
- Ability to build trust, influence leaders, and navigate sensitive situations.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience guiding or supervising HR team members is strongly preferred.
