Responsibilities

The Lead Banquet Captain coordinates and oversees entire banquet function to ensure proper execution and guest satisfaction. As the Lead Banquet Captain, you will be the driving force behind unforgettable guest experiences, guiding banquet staff with confidence, orchestrating seamless event flow, and ensuring every detail exceeds expectations. You’ll take charge of setup, service, and breakdown for a wide range of events, lead by example on the floor, and collaborate closely with culinary and operations teams to deliver polished, high-quality service.

This is a dynamic, hands-on lead role perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, loves elevating hospitality, and wants to play a key role in creating memorable moments for every guest.

This role pays an hourly rate of $19.00-$20.00

Responsibilities
  • Supervises the set up, execution, and breakdown of both remote and stationary retail food/bar locations
  • Sets up and tends bar as required.
  • Organizes and delegates tasks to staff before, during, and after Retail & Catering events
  • Assists Managers with Bar, Retail, and Catering Inventories
  • Must take and pass alcoholic beverage service training
  • Reviews assigned banquet staff functions, banquet menus prior to the scheduled event
  • Conducts pre-banquet meetings with staff to ensure appearance and hygiene standards are met; assign stations and partners; and review banquet event orders
  • Communicates with the Executive Chef/Kitchen Manager or event coordinator to ensure that all details are planned for and met, and that changes and further instructions are made in a timely manner
  • Ensures appropriate quantities of china, glassware, silverware, linens, and other items are available for upcoming events; secure requisitions for items not in inventory
  • Checks room set-up prior to event and confirms quantities of food items and timing of food leaving the kitchen with the Executive Chef
  • Ensures proper handling of all equipment (china, glassware, silverware, linens, and props) and their proper storage after use
  • Conducts random audits during functions to evaluate food and service, ensuring food is served at proper temperatures, placed correctly, sufficient food is available, and upsell opportunities are met
  • Regularly reviews banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3-6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job (e.g., the associates may be required to communicate with English-speaking customers or co-workers, manuals for equipment may be in English)
  • Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages
