Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida Tennessee and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services and foster care. All Thompson programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed with the intention of building resilience in our clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person.

• As a Youth Care Specialist in the Thompson Youth Stabilization department, you will provide crisis invention, de-escalation, and behavior modification techniques to youth who have night-to-night placement in DSS offices and/or have limited stability in their home.
• A typical day as a Youth Care Specialist will include responding to requests made for client intervention, coordinating sessions, de-escalating youth, and completing documentation. As a Youth Care Specialist, an on-call schedule for weekends and flexibility are required

• Starting Pay Range: $19-$20 hourly

Minimum

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 2 years of relevant experience–preferably working with youth within a secure residential facility and/or a behavioral health setting
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet any credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as it pertains to the department you are in.
• All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test, and an extensive background check is required.
