The PRN Medical Assistant – Greenville, SC – will support our primary care team at Marathon Health.

The Role
The Medical Assistant works closely with a primary care physician to deliver excellent patient care and provide an exceptional guest experience. You will function as both a Medical Receptionist and as a Medical Assistant, overseeing the full spectrum of the patient experience.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked
- Review previous medical information and gather updated health information from patients to inform the provider
- Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures, and work with contracted labs for additional tests
- Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations under provider orders
- Partner with other team members to develop individualized patient plans of care, identifying and addressing gaps in care
- Perform front‑desk duties: patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinate specialist visits and referrals, and other clinic tasks
- Record accurate and pertinent data in the medical record per documentation guidelines
- Process test results and provide patients with timely results via e‑message, mail, or phone as directed by the provider
- Participate in outreach to patients to drive engagement among eligible groups
- Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatments
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care (may vary by clinic needs)
- Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant or related program
- National or state‑specific MA certification or registration strongly preferred; required where certification is mandated
- CPR/BLS certification required at the time of start date
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
