Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky. What will you do as a Youth Care Specialist- Provide crisis intervention, de‑escalation, and behavior modification techniques to youth who have night‑to‑night placement in DSS offices and/or have limited stability in their home.
- Respond to requests for client intervention, coordinate sessions, de‑escalate youth, and complete documentation. An on‑call schedule for weekends and flexibility are required.
- Starting Pay Range: $19‑$20 hourly

- High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 2 years of relevant experience – preferably working with youth within a secure residential facility and/or a behavioral health setting.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet any credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as it pertains to the department you are in.
- All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test; an extensive background check is required.
