Primary Purpose of PositionThe Care Management For At‑Risk Children is a family‑centered program responsive to the varying needs of children and their families. The Social Worker collaborates and coordinates with families to assure identification of and access to preventive, specialized, and supportive services for themselves and their children. Clients served are ages birth to five years who meet program‑identified risk criteria. They may be at risk for developmental delay, chronic illness, toxic stress, social‑emotional disorder, or diagnosed with such problems.
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities
Considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices and their application to individual casework, group work, and community problems; knowledge of psychosocial, socioeconomic, and behavioral problems and their treatment; knowledge of governmental and private organizations and community resources; knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies which govern the program; general knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and their treatment (required in certain programs or settings).
Skill in establishing rapport with a client and applying techniques of assessing psychosocial, behavioral, and psychological aspects of a client’s problem. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrative superiors, members of case load, and their families, as well as with civic, medical, social, and religious organizations. Ability to train or instruct lower‑level social workers, students, or interns;
ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution.
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preference: Social workers with a bachelor’s degree in social work (BSW, BA in social work, or BS in social work) or master’s degree in social work (MSW, MA in social work, or MS in social work) from a Council on Social Work Education accredited social work degree program. [

non‑degreed social workers cannot provide CMARC care management, even if they qualify as a Social Worker under the Office of State Human Resources guidelines].
