We have a unique opportunity as a Corporate Tax Director for a reputable company in Greenville, SC. As the Tax Director, you will lead the company’s federal, state, and local tax accounting and reporting function. As the Tax Director, you will be responsible for defining and implementing tax policies, ensuring compliance with all regulations, managing tax reporting, and conducting extensive tax reviews.
This is a highly hands on leadership role where you will own the tax function and help shape the future of the tax team.
Essential Duties & Functions
- Manage the allocation of taxable income to the state level and make estimated payments to the states
- Provide accurate and timely tax reporting and distributions
- Manage the payment of franchise taxes, property taxes, and activity taxes
- Provide input on payroll tax issues, as needed
- Track and manage book-to-tax income adjustments in accordance with IRS rules
- In partnership with tax advisors, manage timely and accurate federal and state tax return filings
- Provide tax policy thought leadership, working closely with advisors, and optimize tax outcomes in compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws
- Manage external tax compliance reviews to a high standard of results
- Manage, monitor, evaluate, and develop strong internal financial controls
- Lead, develop, and mentor team members
- Foster a collaborative culture that facilitates the achievement of business plan objectives by working closely with other associates and members of management
- Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by management
Qualifications
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
- 5+ years of progressive experience in tax and accounting positions
- Practical working knowledge of partnership taxation issues highly preferred
- Experience with multi-state, multi-entity partnership taxation preferred
- Strong mathematical, computational, and analytical skills with a high-level of attention to detail
- Strong leadership and communication and skills
- Ability to think strategically, deliver tactically, and build a high-performing organization
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to set and manage multiple conflicting priorities
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Team player that can adapt in a fast pace and changing environment
