JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading financial support activities related to cash flow, revenues, costs, budgets, forecasts, and operational projects. The Director of Finance & Accounting will provide leadership and support to a team by delivering high quality and accurate financial oversight, analysis and information. They will act as the liaison between plant management, senior management, and the finance team, streamlining reporting processes in the company to improve financial transparency and accountability.

EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; CPA or MBA preferred. 7–10+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including leadership. Experience in manufacturing or multi‑site operational environments strongly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of the fundamental principles and terminology of accounting.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role supervises 3 additional financial positions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities
  • Perform monthly duties related to financial statement generation, including posting of journal entries, payroll financial data, and month‑end close processes for a portfolio of plants as directed.
  • Manage and maintain month‑end processes to achieve desired close window.
  • Assignments to special studies/teams to assist management in evaluating key opportunities for the company.
  • FP&A building annual budgets and periodic strategic forecast planning.
  • Tax & Audit leadership and management throughout the year ensuring deadlines are not missed.
  • Lead team of analysts performing analysis of spending trends for a portfolio of plants.
  • Complete ad hoc financial analysis for Bluewater management team as directed.
  • Balance sheet reconciliation responsibility for the company along with aiding in inventory counts, reconciliations, and optimization with specific plants.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Quantitative analytical capabilities using basic statistical models.
  • Knowledge of database systems and basic relationships.
  • Expert level Excel with knowledge of the following functions:
    • vlookup, sumif(s), xlookup, if statements, nested if statements, and pivot tables

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 5‑10% infrequent travel may be required to the plant locations.

LANGUAGE & WRITING

SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, procedures manuals, governmental regulations, and financial documents. Ability to write business correspondence and other materials, as requested. Ability to communicate effectively, and in writing, with all levels of management. Speaks and writes clearly and effectively even when relating complex information. Able to express ideas in a concise and organized manner.
