Position Summary
The Revenue Specialist position is part of the Revenue team reporting to the Revenue Manager. The Revenue Specialist is fluent in Star Collect or Aderant software. This individual will assist in complex tasks associated with eBilling, insurance, immigration, and non-insured collections for a high-volume client base.
Essential Functions- The following are the most common duties/responsibilities of the position, but are not limited to:
- Locate/monitor overdue accounts using Star Collect collection systems and provide weekly reports.
- Effectively utilize billing and/or collection systems to identify and monitor client past-due amounts.
- Contact clients according to established collection procedures and client/attorney protocol.
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping of collections activities.
- Respond to client and attorney inquiries and requests for information.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of procedures, preferences, and other nuances of clients and attorneys.
- Maintain a positive and professional rapport in a team environment with clients, attorneys, and others.
- Prepare and distribute regular and ad hoc reports to the manager, clients, attorneys, and accounting personnel.
- Demonstrate good judgment in determining issues that should be escalated to the manager.
- Perform specialized tasks as assigned, which may include filing claims and monitoring clients in DIP and in bankruptcy, insurance, setting up and maintaining promissory notes and personal guarantees, and assisting in obtaining and interpreting credit reports.
- Ability to research payment history and verify payment responsibility based on insurance policy.
- Effectively communicate with clients, attorneys, and insurance adjusters/claims handlers regarding questions related to invoices, payments, reductions, retention, etc.
- Generate payment reports for clients/insurance carriers itemizing payment responsibilities.
- Clear knowledge of the eBilling/billing process for insurance clients to ensure compliance with billing requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 2-year undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
- Strong knowledge of common collections standards and practices and an acute grasp for the FDCPA and basic accounting principles.
- Effective verbal, interpersonal communication and listening skills as well as the ability to provide suggestions for process efficiency and improvement.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and related technology.
- Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability and willingness to prioritize and meet aggressive deadlines.
- Commitment to perform job responsibilities with high professional and ethical standards.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of foreign currency.

BenefitsIn accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $52,960 and $79,440. In accordance with New York State’s Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this New York State position is between $58,480 and $87,720. In accordance with California’s amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $49,680 and $87,720.
In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities act, the expected salary range for this Washington position is between $55,600 and $83,400. In accordance with the Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act, the expected salary range for this DC position is between $55,600 and $83,400. In accordance with Maryland’s Equal Pay for Equal Work-Wage Range Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Baltimore position is between $49,680 and $74,520.
