Engineering Manager - Integrated Motor Drives (IMD)
The work model for the role is: Onsite
Your role and responsibilitiesThe R&D Engineer - Integrated Motor Drives will support the product development and system engineering for IMD products within the ABB NEMA Motors organization. You will be responsible for defining specifications and requirements for integrated drive electronics to control electric motors of various designs and topologies and will manage the full product development lifecycle of the IMD products. You will also interface with internal engineering and third-party suppliers to define the next generation of electronics for IMD products.

You will be mainly accountable for- Lead and collaborate on endtoend product development, including design, implementation, testing, validation, documentation, and release activities.
- Translate stakeholder, regulatory, and certification requirements into clear engineering specifications for electronic designs and buildtoprint assemblies.
- Engage with internal and external networks to execute product design tasks, share knowledge, and apply lessons learned to drive quality and timely delivery.
- Ensure compliance with IP, safety, and quality standards, contributing to IP-related discussions and maintaining accurate specifications, test reports, and product documentation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with minimum 4 years of experience with Electric Motors or Motor Control Electronics
- Experience specifying components and assemblies in a build to spec design.
- Test and Validation experience.
- Preferred Experience Includes: Demonstrated utilization of a Product development lifecycle methodology. Working knowledge of UL, CSA, CE and other regulatory and industrial standards. Experience with executing type tests at internal and external laboratories. Knowledge of manufacturing processes for motors and electronics.
- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
