Position: BIM (Revit) Manager

Overview

As a vital member of the Greenville, South Carolina Water Design Center for Garver, the BIM Group Leader will lead a production team responsible for coordinating drawing production efforts for Garver's Greenville Water Design Center. The BIM Group Leader will collaborate with engineers, designers, and other BIM technicians to produce drawings and manage workload on various Water Business Line projects. The BIM Group Leader will also be responsible for coordinating BIM workload with other teams, including Garver's Central Water Design Center.

and Responsibilities
  • Planning, managing and executing BIM workload
  • Supervising and inspiring a multi-discipline group of technicians and designers to execute water and sewer projects
  • Developing 3D BIM Revit models
  • Creating plans, sections, and details in Revit and AutoCAD software
  • Team building, including recruiting, development and mentorship
  • Arranging necessary resources for file sharing and communication to effectively share design files across the company or with clients, sub consultants, and contractors
  • Maintaining strong communication with engineers and project managers to ensure timely delivery of projects and avoid potential project conflicts
  • Quality program compliance, including QA/QC to ensure all projects adhere to company standards

Typical project duties include processing point cloud data, developing Revit models, and producing construction (contract) drawings for complex multi-discipline projects. Drawing sets may include general plan sheets, P&, civil site plan sheets, structural, building mechanical, process mechanical, electrical power & light, electrical instrumentation & control, and architectural designs for many different types of projects, including water and wastewater treatment plants and other water infrastructure.

Water

Design Center (WDC)

The WDC is a knowledge-based hub that excels in highly technical, multi-discipline water and wastewater designs for clients with Garver offices. Garver provides professional growth, career programs, mentorship, hands-on design, project involvement, and opportunities in marketing initiatives.

Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in CAD, BIM, or similar 2-year degree
  • 8+ years of computer aided drafting and design experience with an architectural and/or engineering design team
  • 2+ years supervisory experience managing a team
  • 8+ years of experience using Revit
Preferred Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in CAD or similar 2-year degree
  • Experience with multi-discipline CAD (i.e. piping, structural, electrical, I&C, controls, mechanical, HVAC, process)
  • Experience with architectural, industrial and commercial designs
  • Experience with Civil 3D
  • Experience with point clouds and point cloud processing with Re Cap
  • Experience with BIM
    360 file sharing software
  • Experience using Bluebeam and MS Office products, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Experience with file sharing protocols and other methods of file transfer
  • Understanding of water or wastewater treatment specific equipment
  • General understanding of various building types
  • Good communication and training skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong teaching and coaching skills to bring new team members up to speed
  • Ability to communicate the benefits of BIM, both for internal and external purposes
  • Passionate about BIM and how it can be used to improve the productivity of those who work in design and construction
