Overview
Position Title: Construction Engineer
Company: Metromont LLC is a leader in precast concrete, with nearly a century of experience, six manufacturing facilities across multiple states, and a full range of design, engineering, hauling, erection, and field services. Metromont partners with customers from project design through turnover of the completed structure.
The role is to lead internal construction projects from inception through completion.
Responsibilities- Point of contact and leader for capital projects and internal construction projects
- Define scope, establish timelines, monitor safety and progress, and communicate with all involved parties
- Obtain 2–3 bids, qualify bidders, and ensure vendors are approved
- Effectively work with contractors and vendors to ensure smooth project flow
- Able to read drawings with regards to elevations, drainage, and storm water flows
- Monitor environmental devices and assist with environmental permitting
- Manage and monitor assets (rolling stock, production equipment, office facilities)
- Assist with maintenance and repairs at all Metromont locations
- Participate in writing of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Assist with creation of Capital Asset Expenditures (CAEs)
- Prepare capital expenditure requests
- Capable to learn and become an expert in the entire Batch Plant Process
- Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations
- Works independently with little supervision
- Reports to the Construction Engineering Manager
- Hands-on with willingness to get involved in projects as requested
- Able to meet deadlines

- Associate s degree in Construction Engineering or similar required
- Bachelor s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred
- Contractor s License preferred or ability to obtain
- Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Project required
- Spends equal time in office and plant environment
- Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm; hours may vary during training in production areas and on projects
- Work area is not climate controlled and may be exposed to changing weather and temperature conditions
- Travel required to all Metromont locations (50%)

PPE only required with working in the plant
Physical RequirementsThis position requires standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 75 lbs, bending, repetitive motion with medium force, and an ability to frequently climb up to 15 feet above ground using stairs.
