What impact you'll makeAs a Lead Electrical Design Engineer of the Direct Air Capture NPI Engineering team, you will be an active contributor to developing first-of-a-kind carbon removal systems and creating scalable, repeatable electrical design standards for commercial DAC deployments.
What you'll do- Design complete electrical power systems for DAC process equipment including single-line diagrams, load lists, and power distribution architectures
- Select and specify electrical equipment such as transformers, switch gear, MCCs, VFDs, and control system hardware
- Develop instrumentation strategies and integrate field devices including gas analyzers, flow meters, and temperature sensors
- Create standard electrical design building blocks for repeatable DAC modules and cost optimization strategies
- Collaborate with controls teams to define interfaces between power systems and Mark VIe control platforms
- Support project execution through technical specifications, vendor reviews, and cross-functional integration
- Provide commissioning and startup support including factory acceptance testing, loop testing, and troubleshooting
- Maintain electrical documentation and contribute to internal design standards and best practices
- Mentor junior engineers and communicate design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 3-7 years of industrial electrical design experience
- Demonstrated experience producing single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and power distribution designs
- Hands-on exposure to MCCs, transformers, VFDs, and PLC/DCS-based control systems
- Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards and ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines
- Ability and willingness to travel ~5-20% annually
- Experience with carbon capture, clean energy technologies, or decarbonization-related processes
- Proficiency with CAD tools and experience in large motor applications or modular skid-based systems
- Exposure to GE Mark VIe control platforms or industrial networking protocols
- Experience in NPI, startup-like environments, or early-stage technology commercialization
- Demonstrated technical leadership in design reviews, mentoring, or driving technical decisions

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
