We are seeking a Design Engineer with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and 1–3 years of relevant experience to join our Indoor & Specialty group in Greenville, SC. This role calls for a talented and creative problem solver who will design and develop lighting products that push boundaries in performance, design, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical design background, a creative mindset, and a proven ability to deliver exceptional design solutions.
Experience in lighting is highly desired but not required.
- Conceptualization and Design:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and develop innovative lighting solutions that meet project goals and performance objectives. - Engineering Analysis:
Perform thermal analysis, optical simulations, and photometric testing to validate design concepts and ensure optimal performance. - Prototyping and Testing:
Oversee the prototyping and testing of lighting fixtures and systems, analyze results, and iterate designs for improved outcomes. - Documentation:
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation to support manufacturing and product assembly. - Collaboration and Communication:
Partner with project managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to maintain alignment across all stages of product development. - Continuous Improvement:
Stay up to date on industry trends, materials, and technologies, and proactively recommend new methods to enhance product innovation and efficiency.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 1–3 years of mechanical design engineering experience with a demonstrated passion for creativity and innovation.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., OnShape, Solid Works, Solid Edge, AutoCAD).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with engineering analysis and interpreting test results.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results on time and within scope.
