Pay Range: $34-38/hr
This position will be part of the Lockheed Martin Greenville Support Operations (GSO) Aircraft Maintenance Team, supporting new production delivery of the F-16 at Greenville, South Carolina. The mechanic will be involved in incoming and outgoing flight operations, follow-on maintenance and routine troubleshooting. Responsibilities include launch, recovery, preflight, through flight, basic post-flight inspections, ground handling, maintenance, engine runs, operational checkouts, and servicing.
Responsibilities- Perform/assist with launch, recovery, preflight, thru flight, and post-flight inspections; ground handling and servicing.
- Perform routine troubleshooting, installation, repair, and maintenance of electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems and components on the aircraft.
- Ensure acceptability of electrical, hydraulic-pneumatic, propulsion, landing gear, flight control surfaces, and periodic inspections; assess general airframe condition and crew escape systems.
- Remove panels and related hardware to access equipment requiring repair.
- Work with knowledge of aircraft systems operation and maintenance, including:
- Landing gear
- Powerplants
- Flight controls
- Fueling/Defueling
- Aircraft movement/Launch & Recovery
- Familiarity with F-16 or related fighter flight line operations preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance processes.
- Experience with electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems is preferred.
- F-16 or related fighter flight line experience is preferred.
