Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• For co‑curricular subjects, teachers with a bachelor’s degree in the subject taught are preferred or, at a minimum, 36 hours of higher‑education credit in the subject area of instruction
• Satisfactory background check as required by South Carolina law

Position Specifics
Music teachers should be familiar with the Core Knowledge framework and guide students to enjoy, appreciate, and interpret music. They should expose students to various genres, develop performance skills, and teach music theory.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create a safe classroom environment for all students.
• Create thoughtful, well‑planned lessons adhering to the curriculum.
• Maintain an orderly classroom.
• Provide timely, meaningful evaluation and correction of student work.
• Engage students using the Socratic method.
• Lead students with charisma, humor, moral integrity, and example.
• Perform additional assigned campus duties.
• Follow school policies and procedures for student safety.
• Assist students with individual help and make‑up work.
• Communicate regularly with parents.
• Attend special school events and staff meetings.
• Support dress and behavior codes.
• Maintain gradebook, update parents, prepare reports.
• Participate in review meetings with the Headmaster.
• Pursue excellence in teaching and deep knowledge of Western Civilization.
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance and professional appearance.
