Locum Medical Oncology Opportunity
Seeking a locum Medical Oncologist to provide coverage at a free-standing cancer center following the loss of a provider. This role includes both outpatient and inpatient oncology services within a collaborative, well-established practice.
Practice Setting
Free-standing Cancer Center with outpatient and inpatient oncology coverage
Adult and geriatric patient population
Practice mix: 65% benign hematology and 35% malignant oncology
Team includes 7 physicians and 6 APPs
EMR:
Epic
Clinical Responsibilities
Outpatient clinic with an average of 25 patients per day
Inpatient rounding/call responsibilities average 20 patients per day (no call required during the locum period)
Participation in Tumor Board
Management of bone marrow transplants and blood bank responsibilities
Ordering labs, imaging, and prescribing treatments
Chemotherapy administration managed by oncology nursing staff
Call Coverage
No call required during the locum assignment
If transitioned to permanent placement, call is approximately 1 week every 6 8 weeks
Credentialing & Logistics
Estimated credentialing timeframe: 60 days
Travel reimbursement provided (flight, lodging, rental car, mileage per IRS standard rate)
Submission Requirements
Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology
Active South Carolina medical license (or willingness to obtain)
BLS certification and DEA
Clean background for emergency temporary privileges
Current NPDB report required for presentation
