Join Our Team as a Locum Physician - Oncology in Greenville, SC

Are you a dedicated Oncology Physician seeking a flexible, rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care? We are currently seeking a highly skilled Locum Physician to provide exceptional oncology services in a prominent free-standing cancer center.

In this vital position, you will deliver outpatient and inpatient oncology care to adult and geriatric patients, primarily focusing on benign hematology and malignant oncology. Your expertise will support tumor board participation, management of bone marrow transplants, blood bank procedures, and coordination of diagnostic tests and treatments, all within the EPIC electronic medical record system.

This role offers a flexible schedule with no call obligations during the locum period, promoting work-life balance, and adheres to high standards of patient care.

Key responsibilities include managing a patient caseload of approximately 25 outpatient and 20 inpatient visits daily, ordering tests and imaging, prescribing treatments, and working closely with nurse oncologists to administer chemotherapy. The position involves collaboration with a team of seven physicians and six advanced practice providers, ensuring comprehensive cancer care delivery.

To succeed, candidates should possess strong clinical skills in oncology, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Familiarity with tumor board participation, bone marrow transplant management, and blood bank procedures is advantageous.

Preferred qualifications include a medical degree with board certification in Oncology, an active medical license, and prior experience in an outpatient and inpatient oncology setting. While not mandatory, experience with EMR systems and participation in tumor boards are beneficial.

Additional requirements include credentialing within approximately 60 days, and the ability to travel as necessary. The position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $19.50, with reimbursement for travel expenses such as flights, hotels, rental cars, and mileage according to IRS standards.
