Salary: $110,000 to $130,000 base + bonus

I am working with a commercial general contractor based in Greenville, SC, and they are seeking a Lead Estimator / Preconstruction Manager to take ownership of their preconstruction function. This is a key leadership hire for the business and offers the opportunity to shape processes, influence strategy, and ultimately build and lead a preconstruction team.

The company delivers semi-competitive, negotiated work, typically bidding against a small group of trusted general contractors. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands‑on while also thinking long term about growth and leadership.

• Lead all preconstruction and estimating efforts from conceptual budgeting through GMP and final pricing
• Prepare detailed estimates for ground‑up commercial projects up to $50M
• Manage subcontractor outreach, bid leveling, and scope reviews
• Collaborate closely with operations, project management, and ownership during preconstruction
• Utilize Procore and other estimating tools to manage budgets, scopes, and documentation
• Participate in value engineering and cost‑saving initiatives
• Develop and refine preconstruction processes and standards
• Over time, hire, mentor, and lead a growing preconstruction team

• 5+ years estimating experience with a commercial general contractor
• Strong Procore, on‑screen takeoff, and Excel experience required
• Experience working in both South Carolina and North Carolina markets
• Familiarity with regional subcontractors and vendors in SC and NC
• Experience with Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) delivery is a plus
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and collaborative
• Long‑term mindset with interest in leadership growth
• Base salary of $110,000–$130,000 plus bonus
