Job Description
As a Senior Engineering Technician for BLE you will work under the immediate supervision of a registered professional engineer. You will collaborate with construction site managers and engineers to lead a team of 10 to 15 junior ETs performing inspections and sampling services critical to quality assurance in construction projects. Key responsibilities include collecting concrete, soil, and site materials for testing;
monitoring contractor activities during onsite testing; and reporting earthwork, soil construction, foundation/subgrade evaluation, reinforced steel, concrete placements, masonry, and asphalt testing. You will write and review detailed daily reports, summarizing test results and site observations.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of Special Inspections Technician experience and 2 years of supervisory experience, or 10+ years of experience in lieu of certifications.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with 3 years of clean driving history.
- Ability to work outdoors on a construction site in all seasons and weather conditions for extended periods.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently while completing scheduled tasks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with team members, BLE leadership, clients, local, state, and federal authorities.
- Attention to detail and time‑management skills.
- Active certifications required: ACI 1, ICC Soils Inspector, ICC Reinforced Concrete, ICC Masonry Special Inspector.
- Basic knowledge of smartphones and computers for communication and record‑keeping (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, bend, lift (50 lbs), tug, and pull on unstable, unpaved ground.
