Construction Observer

Join to apply for the Construction Observer role at CHA Consulting, Inc. located in Greenville, SC.

• Examine sewer and water systems, reviewing building codes, local ordinances, and zoning laws.
• Approve blueprints and monitor construction sites for quality control.
• Perform initial checks during the first phase of construction and follow‑up inspections throughout the project, providing written or oral feedback.
• Conduct a final comprehensive inspection when the project is finished.

• High School Diploma required;
  Associate’s degree in Engineering Science, Construction Management or related technical field preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• A minimum of 5 years of related construction observation experience.
• Good knowledge of the construction industry.
• Ability to comprehend construction and contract documents.
• Understands and follows company standards, demonstrates knowledge of construction techniques, and can complete most duties required on complex projects.
• Ability to understand and interpret client’s contracts.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong mathematics skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Strong ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Good knowledge of the company’s standards and core values.
• Willingness to aid and teach entry‑level staff.
• Extensive travel may be required.
• PAPC, SEPSCI certifications preferred.

$33.65 - $40.14 per hour. Salary is based on qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
