Overview
We are seeking a Senior Operational Financial Analyst to serve as the primary financial partner to our Operations team. In this role, you will translate complex operational activities into clear, actionable financial insights that drive efficiency and protect profitability. You will analyze margins, inventory performance, productivity, and working capital, partnering closely with operational leaders to support data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong financial acumen, a deep understanding of production and distribution workflows, and the ability to leverage data, systems, and business intelligence tools to improve operational performance and business outcomes.
This position is in Greenville, SC. This position is NOT remote.
- $90k Salary, depending on experience

- Lead customer and product profitability analysis to identify margin leakage and cost improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain cost-to-serve models for products, services, and customers.
- Partner with operations and commercial teams to improve gross margin performance.
- Design, maintain, and continuously improve an operational scorecard with key performance indicators such as labor hours per ship-unit, freight as a percentage of sales, and warehouse operating expenses.
- Analyze operational variances and productivity trends to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Analyze inventory flows to quantify the financial impact of slow-moving inventory, shrink, and Excess & Obsolete (E&O) reserves.
- Partner with operations and supply chain leaders to improve inventory turnover and reduce write-offs.
- Collaborate with procurement, planning, and warehouse teams to balance inventory availability with cash flow requirements.
- Support initiatives to reduce idle capital while ensuring service level expectations are met.
- Provide financial validation and ROI analysis for operational initiatives, including CAPEX investments, warehouse automation, layout changes, and logistics network optimization.
- Translate complex financial analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for non-finance stakeholders.
- Build and maintain automated dashboards and self-service reporting tools to support operational decision-making.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment across financial and operational systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Mastery of P&L analysis, cost accounting principles, and operational variance analysis in production, distribution, or logistics environments.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret large, complex datasets and extract actionable insights.
- Proficiency in SQL and advanced spreadsheet modeling.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-finance audiences.
- Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence operational leaders.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field required.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis roles, preferably within production, distribution, wholesale, or logistics environments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting operational teams and driving data-driven decision-making.
- MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred but not required.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to bend, sit, and lift up to 50 lbs
