Cost Accountant

The Cost Accountant analyzes and controls manufacturing costs to ensure accurate financial reporting and support effective business decision-making. This role partners with operations, supply chain, and finance to monitor production costs, track variances, and recommend improvements that drive profitability and efficiency.

• Collaborate with team members and contribute to accounting and organizational goals. Maintain and analyze standard costs
  , including updates to bills of materials (BOM) and routings.
• Perform variance analysis (purchase price, labor efficiency, overhead absorption) and provide actionable insights to management.
• Support monthly close by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and cost allocation reports.
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain to monitor and explain material usage, scrap, and production variances.
• Conduct inventory accounting
  : reconcile physical counts to the general ledger, analyze inventory reserves, and ensure compliance with corporate policy.
• Prepare and analyze cost reports to support management decision-making.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting of manufacturing costs.
• Partner with auditors during financial reviews related to cost accounting.

• Managing and reconciling large volumes of manufacturing and inventory data.
• Explaining cost variances to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Supporting decision-making in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Balancing corporate compliance requirements with plant-level operational needs.

• Education / diplomas
  :
  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Professional background
  :
  At least 3-5 years in a manufacturing or plant environment in accounting department

  :
  Advanced proficiency in Excel, experience with ERP/accounting systems, and familiarity with accounting systems experience.
