Essential Duties & Functions

• Prepare and review complex individual and business tax returns (1040, 1120S, 1065, 990, etc.)
• Lead tax engagements from start to finish, communicating directly with clients
• Provide tax projections and proactive planning strategies throughout the year
• Respond to IRS and state notices on behalf of clients
• Assist in consulting projects, including business valuations, exit planning, and restructuring
• Supervise and mentor junior staff accountants, supporting their development
• Participate in client meetings and contribute to long-term relationship growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred (or actively pursuing)
• 2+ years of experience in public accounting, including tax return preparation and review
• Solid understanding of tax law, research, and planning for individuals and small businesses
• Experience preparing financial statements and working in systems like Quick Books
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Strong Excel skills; experience with CCH Axcess or similar tax software is a plus
