ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is a 974‑bed flagship hospital and primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. It has achieved Magnet® designation twice and provides acute, intermediate, rehabilitation, and outpatient services to a 29‑county region.
Position SummaryResponsible for providing nursing care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing‑Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other professional standards. Nursing care will be delivered per ECU Health policies and procedures.
Provides the provision and coordination of nursing care, including assessment data collection, identifying expected outcomes, developing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members, implementing interventions, evaluating progress, and documenting the process. The role addresses the unique needs of each patient.
Collaborates with the healthcare team, delegates tasks as appropriate per NC Nurse Practice Act, and promotes effective team functioning.
Minimum Requirements- Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
