To provide professional care to service users, aimed at preventing disease and maintaining good health care.
Schedule: FT / 7p - 7a with rotating weekends
Responsibilities- Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Assist the Registered Nurse in delivering quality nursing services to persons supported
- Provide health related training to unlicensed personnel
- Administer medications and treatments or assist the person supported with medication administration
- Assist with ensuring preventative and routine medical appointments are scheduled
- Conduct medication closest assessments
- Collect health related data
- Observe for and report any abnormal health related findings to the physician
- Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team
- Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community supports to promote optimal health
- Graduation from an accredited licensed nurse program
- Current nursing license with no restrictions to practice nursing
- Current CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification
- Effective communication with Interdisciplinary Team Members, the people supported, and their families
- Ability to work independently, be organized, and prioritize work tasks
Physical requirements include: ability to regularly lift 20 pounds; must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds; must be able to pull a minimum of 25 pounds; must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop; must be able to regularly stand and walk; must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.

- Name checked in the registries (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)

- Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements
- Proof of employment history or references (if required)
