Overview
St. James UMC, in Greenville, NC, is searching for a full-time Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries to inspire children, empower youth, and support families in growing a stronger connection with Christ and one another. The Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries leads the ministry so that children, youth, and families can flourish spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. In this role, the Director works closely with the Family Ministries Coordinator to provide leadership to the ministry, build relationships with families and volunteers, and implement programming for children, youth, and families to grow and foster their relationship with Christ and one another.
Compensationand Benefits
The annual salary is $50,000-$52,000, with benefits worth more than $10k – including a 9% employer-paid pension contribution, excellent health insurance with 90% premium paid for employee & 75% paid for family, continuing education allowance, preschool tuition reduction, and PTO/sick leave days.
Responsibilities- Foster a vibrant, safe, and welcoming environment where young people and families can build strong foundations of faith and meaningful relationships.
- Collaborate with pastors, staff, and volunteers to develop engaging programs and activities that nurture spiritual growth.
- Encourage and equip volunteers to serve joyfully while recruiting and mentoring new leaders.
- Communicate effectively with parents, youth, volunteers, and the congregation.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Proven ability to lead, organize, and inspire teams of staff and volunteers effectively.
- A heart for children, youth, and families and a strong desire to nurture their spiritual growth.
- Previous involvement in ministry leadership, preferably in the areas of children, youth, and family discipleship.
- A vibrant and growing personal relationship with Christ, demonstrated in daily life and ministry.
