Polysomnographic Technologist I – ECU Health
$7,500 Sign-On Bonus for eligible candidates
Position SummaryA Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the medical director to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of patients with sleep disorders, including in‑center and out‑of‑center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. The technologist is able to perform the duties defined and provide oversight of other sleep center staff as assigned.
Minimum Requirements- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or an Associate’s Degree in Polysomnography (Sleep Technology) is required.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and registered as RPSGT with the North Carolina Medical Board.
- 0 to 3 years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sleep Science/Neurodiagnostics/Sleep Technology may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or Associate’s Degree in Polysomnography (Sleep Technology) is required.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and registered as RPSGT with the North Carolina Medical Board.
- 0 to 3 years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sleep Science/Neurodiagnostics/Sleep Technology may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or Associate’s Degree in Polysomnography (Sleep Technology) is required.

- 3 to 6 years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or Associate’s Degree in Polysomnography (Sleep Technology) is required.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and registered as RPSGT with the North Carolina Medical Board.
- 6 to 10 years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or Associate’s Degree in Polysomnography (Sleep Technology) is required.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and registered as RPSGT with the North Carolina Medical Board.
- 10 or more years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
- Minimum of one additional certification:
- Certification in Clinical Sleep Health (CCSH)
- Pediatric Sleep Certificate
- Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T)
- Certification in Clinical Sleep Health (CCSH)
- Primary Shift: Night – 12‑hour shifts at night.
- Schedule:
7:30 pm – 8:00 pm, Sunday – Tuesday track or Wednesday – Friday track. - On Call:
