Job Description

IMPACT Leadership & Educational Center - 2140 Moxie Lane Winterville, NC 28590 - is currently seeking a Federal Work Study Student to serve as a Programs Assistant.

Responsibilities
  • Instructional Support:
    Assist the lead teacher in carrying out STEM learning experiences and other leadership programs.
  • Prepare, set-up, and clean-up instructional materials, supplies, and resources for program activities.
  • Support students with varying learning needs and abilities.
  • Student Supervision and Safety:
    Assist with maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment at all times.
  • Use positive strategies that promote student engagement and learning.
  • Communication and

    Collaboration:

    Work collaboratively with lead teachers, program coordinators, and other staff members.
  • Communicate effectively with students using age-appropriate language and positive reinforcement.
  • Report concerns or incidents to appropriate supervisors promptly.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children in educational, recreational, or childcare settings preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for working with various groups of children.
  • Must pass background check and meet all state/local requirements for working with minors.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around classroom spaces for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to participate in recreational activities with students.
  • Visual and auditory acuity to supervise children effectively.
