Job Title
Community Educator
Responsibilities- Provide adult group instruction to parents, relatives, childcare workers, paraprofessionals, college students and the general public about prevention of child sexual abuse primarily utilizing the video-based "Stewards of Children" curriculum at various locations in Eastern North Carolina.
- As an authorized SOC Facilitator, provide groups instruction about the dynamics of sexual abuse, engaging participants to actively learn for successful demonstration of acquired knowledge.
- Establish partnerships with child-serving agencies to promote curriculum and provide training to agencies through marketing and promoting the benefits of understanding how to prevent and respond to CSA.
- Provide offsite informational and outreach activities to promote the Stewards of Children curriculum and raise awareness of the prevalence of CSA and how to prevent, react and respond to concerns of abuse.
- Provide policy education and guidance for agency leaders on child abuse prevention.
- Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
- Knowledge and experience working with abused and neglected children.
- Effective public speaking and adult education.
- Understanding child development.
