Transportation Operator, General Labor

Description Position Summary:

Terral River Service, Inc. is seeking to hire a skilled and responsible Inland Services Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate various types of equipment used in inland transportation and logistics, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials within our organization. The primary responsibilities include operating equipment such as forklifts, cranes, bobcats, front end loaders, and other specialized machinery.

It is essential that the Equipment Operator adheres to safety protocols and guidelines while employed here.

• Operate inland services equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Load and unload cargo from trucks, containers, and other transportation vehicles.
• Conduct routine inspections on equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Follow established procedures for the handling and storage of different types of cargo.
• Assist in the organization and maintenance of the storage yard and warehouse.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate and prioritize tasks.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately to the supervisor.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation related to equipment operation and cargo handling.

• Proven experience as an equipment operator, preferably in inland services or logistics.
• Valid certification or license to operate forklifts, cranes, and other specified equipment.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor as needed.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and documentation.
• Flexibility to work in varying weather conditions and occasional weekends.
