Manager - Quality

Overview

Achieve the results outlined in the Key Performance Areas, resulting in an effective and efficient quality program, achieving outstanding customer satisfaction and internal excellence in execution.

• Responsible for setting up, documenting & maintaining a quality system that will allow us to ensure that only the highest quality parts reach our customers. This system should allow the facility to be ISO and/or QS approved at some later date.
• Hire and train quality department employees as required.
• Visit with customers and suppliers both in person and via the telephone to ensure that customer expectations are consistently met.
• Set up and perform quality audits as required; incoming, in-process and outgoing.
• Ensure that all measurement tools are calibrated on a regular basis.

• Education and/or
  
  Experience:
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum of 3 years related experience in a quality function at a QS or ISO registered facility.
  • Documented leadership experience
  • Experience in working with Customer’s Quality Assurance Programs
  • Experience setting up a quality system is very much preferred
• Write a comprehensive Quality Manual
• Develop Control Plans by Product Families
• Create First Part Inspection Reports
• Implement SPC
• Perform part and assembly layouts- program CMM
• Checking fixture design and validation
• Perform Gage R&R Studies
• Previous experience with metal fabricating, stamping & welding preferred
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintain instructions, and procedure manuals written in English. Ability to speak effectively in English before groups and customers, and effectively present information, as well as respond to questions presented form groups and customers.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, along with the ability to develop and interpret various types of graphs.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, as well as draw valid conclusions.

Ability to work well in a fast paced environment
