As a Teller II/Universal Banker in Branch Banking, you will represent our brand and culture, help people experience our Customer Promise—wealth builders for everyone—by providing education and advice tailored to their financial needs.
Job Responsibilities- Engage clients as they enter the branch by welcoming them and managing lobby traffic, checking clients into the waiting queue, and delivering a world‑class customer experience.
- Perform branch operations that may include managing cash devices such as the cash drawer, cash vault, ATM, or others while adhering to all bank policies and procedures and performing account origination for consumer clients.
- Provide proactive client outreach to gauge success and offer new tools to help them meet their consumer banking and investment goals.
- Champion new Universal Banker skills such as tablet utilization, account opening, and other key initiatives, helping customers as they learn new ways to bank leveraging all channels of banking.
- Educate clients on the usage of technology self‑service options such as the Southern Mobile App, , and ATMs to complete their banking needs whenever, wherever, and however they want.
- Share best practices across the supported branches to deliver a strong controls environment and exceptional customer experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum six months of customer service and cash handling experience; experience in a bank or similar financial institution preferred.
- Strong customer contact skills to meet and greet the public in a friendly, courteous manner responding to a variety of situations in a professional manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of the Bank's records and customer transactions.
- Detail oriented, accurate, and able to multi‑task; good mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to operate a computer terminal, 10‑key, and other general office equipment.
Willingness to be involved and represent Southern Bancorp through civic and community organizations.
