Continuous Improvement Engineer

Axios Professional Recruitment is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join a leading manufacturer in Greenville, Michigan.

This role is responsible for driving operational excellence by identifying process inefficiencies, implementing lean methodologies, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate is passionate about optimizing performance, reducing waste, and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.

• Continuous Improvement Leadership:
  Lead and facilitate improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other industry-standard methodologies.
• Process Analysis:
  Analyze production workflows to identify waste reduction, cost-saving, and process optimization opportunities.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  
  Partner with engineering, quality, and production teams to implement improvements aligned with business objectives.
• Data & Performance Monitoring:
  Utilize data analysis to measure the impact of initiatives and adjust strategies to achieve target outcomes.
• Operational Excellence Tools:
  Drive Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, and Standard Work initiatives to improve efficiency and quality.
• Root Cause Analysis:
  Conduct investigations into process issues and implement corrective and preventative actions to reduce downtime and defects.
• Traning & Culture Development:
  Train and mentor plant personnel on continuous improvement principles to promote a culture of problem-solving.
• KPI Tracking:
  Collaborate with leadership to establish and monitor key performance indicators related to operational performance.
• Compliance & Quality:
  Ensure all process improvements maintain safety and quality standards.
• Technical Support:
  Provide support for process optimization efforts and new product introductions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality, or related field
• 2–5+ years of experience in continuous improvement or quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and CI methodologies
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving change initiatives
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other quality standards preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proven track record of sustaining measurable process improvements
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
