Chief Estimator Heavy Civil

Job Description

Established heavy civil contractor seeking an experienced Chief Estimator with a strong background in site development, heavy highway, roadway, and bridge construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and prepare competitive bids for public, private, and municipal projects including PennDOT, City of Pittsburgh, airport, railway, and utility authority work
• Evaluate work items in alignment with company capabilities including roadway construction, stormwater systems, utilities, mass earthwork, and concrete flatwork
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive bid packages
• Lead pricing strategy, subcontractor/vendor solicitation, and risk assessment
• Utilize or be willing to learn estimating software including The Construction Link, Inc.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience estimating heavy highway, roadway, bridge, and site development projects
• Strong knowledge of PennDOT specifications and municipal bidding procedures
• Proficiency in quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and bid preparation
• Leadership ability to oversee and mentor estimating team members
• Software proficiency or willingness to learn company estimating systems
