Overview
The Wabtec Rubber Products team manufactures rubber products for transportation and industrial customers globally. The team is dynamic, versatile, and motivated, consisting of seasoned veterans, developing machinists, and young talent. You will work independently with a strong support system around you.
Responsibilities- Produce high-quality components for a variety of industries including transportation, power generation, and industrial.
- Read, understand, and follow process sheets and instructions.
- Read and interpret safety rules and work orders.
- Use and operate measuring devices such as weigh scales, pyrometers, etc.
- Operate material handling equipment such as overhead hoists, pallet jacks, forklifts, hydraulic lift tables, etc.
- Work around extremely hot molds/presses when loading and unloading prep/parts.
- Visually inspect parts for defects; trim and package parts.
- Use and operate pre-heating ovens.
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
- Foster continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Operate various tools such as knives and shears to trim parts as needed.
- Other duties outside of your function or trade may be required with adequate training provided.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Recent experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with rubber or plastics is desired.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to accomplish tasks in a designated timely manner.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and work orders.
- Overtime may be required; employees are expected to make necessary arrangements to accommodate this need.
- Individuals must be able to work any shift, overtime, and weekends on short notice; most positions will be an off shift.
- Physical ability to perform duties as described, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
The full hourly rate for this role is in the range of $20.00-$25.00 per hour. The actual salary offered may be influenced by factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location. The base pay range may change in the future. Benefits information is available at , including health, welfare, and retirement; additional benefits may include annual bonus if eligible.
