Position Overview
Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for all shipping and receiving functions as well as inventory control to meet department KPIs. This includes order picking, inventory put-away, daily planning of warehouse activities and supervision of 3 associates. The position is “hands on” where the Supervisor will be expected to help the associates to get the work completed on time. Supervisor will be using warehouse software (Star Ship and X3) to support these activities.
EssentialFunctions
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all employees and visitors by operating in accordance with health and safety policies (OSHA) and company procedures. Ensures all safety procedures are followed, and daily checklists are completed for forklifts
- Manage, coach, and develop a high performing team that meets company objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.

- Provide coaching and support to successfully train and develop team members.
- Proactively identify and implement solutions to challenges impacting performance and delivery. Have a positive approach when working with people, both internal and external customers.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the KPIs and policies of the organization and department. This includes shipping performance, shipment accuracy, and inventory variance.
- Receiving – Ensures product (inventory and non-inventory) is received accurately, including Bill of Lading signoff, packing slip review and staging for internal quality inspection.
- Put away – Inventory is stored in the appropriate production bin or warehouse location and scanned in
- Non-inventory packages are taken to the right person
- Ensures orders to customers ship on time, are accurate, and labeled properly, using cost effective freight.
- Order Picking
- Ensure customer orders for standard product items are picked accurately and shipped on time.
- Ensure textile orders are properly palletized, processed, and shipped
- Inventory Control
- Responsible for the accurate movement of inventory in X3.
- Analyzes inventory variances, resolves discrepancies, and posts cycle counts.
- Manages customer returns.
- Conducts cycle counts either through the daily cycle count report or as requested.
- Plays a key role in Annual Physical Inventory.
- Uses FIFO method for moving and storing inventory
- Maintains accurate records and files of inbound and outbound shipments.
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives and identifies inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
- Drive 26’ box truck as needed
- Responsible for overseeing warehouse department and forklift maintenance and reporting issues immediately. Ensure doors are locked and lights off at end of day.
- 3 to 5 years
- Effective communication skills, written and verbal.
- Experience leading, motivating and managing a team, setting goals and objectives provide coaching and conduct performance evaluations.
- Strong IT systems knowledge including knowledge and understanding of specialist systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Shipping Software.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office User for Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Able to identify measures or indicators of system performance that are relative to the goals of the system.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Supply Chain Management or Business
- 3-5 years’ experience serving in a supervisory capacity for warehousing.
- 3-5 years' experience working with ERP system for shipping, receiving, and inventory as well as small package shipment software
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with shipment preparation, including palletizing products for outbound shipment, BOL and packing slip preparation, and labeling.
- Experience with handling inbound shipments, including BOL signoff, packing slip review and damage identification.
- Forklift Certification for the past 5 years
Ability to be “on your feet” for much of the day, but at the same time, work with a computer on a desk. Operates forklift and will be expected to utilize one daily to help associates or fill in when associates are on PTO or other absence. Able to lift to 50 lbs.
