ResponsibilitiesSupervises social workers responsible for high‑risk families and/or individuals. Assigns, reviews work/case records, develops work plans, enforces work standards, selects and trains new staff, addresses disciplinary issues and handles employee grievances.
- Conduct audits and reviews of the Child and Family Services Program to ensure compliance with local, state, federal standards and policies.
- Possess extensive knowledge of child welfare standards, practices, and local, state, and federal child and family services policy.
- Knowledge of fiscal, state, and federal policies.
- Knowledge of social work best practices and delinquency prevention/intervention.
- Knowledge of social work practices.
- Ability to interpret fiscal reports and communicate federal, state, and local guidelines to all staff.
- Knowledge, skills, and ability to supervise social workers serving high‑risk families and individuals.
- Ability to communicate changes/expectations to all levels of staff.
- Interpersonal communication skills to elicit information and clarification of issues.
- Good listening, oral, and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills, record‑keeping and report preparation techniques related to case review.
- Ability to use computer programs to generate reports and outcomes in a variety of formats that are easy for staff to understand.
- Ability to set priorities and determine resource requirements and sequence of activities needed to achieve goals.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other team members, involve others, share information as appropriate and share credit for team accomplishments.
- MSW from an accredited school of social work and two years professional social work or counseling experience.
- BSW from an accredited school of social work and three years professional social work or counseling experience.
- Master’s degree in a counseling field and two years professional social work or counseling experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a human service field or related curriculum and three years professional social work or counseling experience.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and four years professional experience in a related human service field providing experience in casework, group work or community organization.
- Must have possession of an appropriate driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina.
- A motor vehicle record (MVR), background check, and drug screening will be conducted on candidates considered for positions.
- Prefer North Carolina Social Services experience.
- Residency:
Candidate must reside within a two‑hour driving radius of Guilford County. - Transcripts required:
Official college transcripts required at time of hire.
Health Insurance (United Health Care ) to all benefitted employees working a minimum of 20 hours per week. 13 paid holidays, 12 sick days, and 12 vacation days per year. Employer contributes 5% into your 401(k) with no match required. Enrollment in the State Retirement Plan by contributing 6%.
