Position Summary
Install, maintain, and repair commercial electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes. Tasks include installing conduit systems, hanging light fixtures, installing feeder wires, and terminating electrical panels.
Essential Functions
- Layout, install, repair or replace electrical wiring, equipment, components, and fixtures according to specifications and codes.
- Inspect and troubleshoot electrical systems to identify hazards and ensure safety and compliance.
- Diagnose malfunctions using test equipment and tools, and correct issues.
- Test electrical systems and circuits for safety and compatibility.
- Use various tools and equipment, including power tools, testers, and circuit tracers.
- Install panel boards, transformers, and motor control centers.
- Work from ladders, lifts, scaffolds, and rooftops to install and repair electrical components.
- Place conduit and pull wires through it to complete circuits.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components.
- Maintain trade-specific tools as per company list.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, such as trenching and lifting heavy objects.
- Report safety hazards or equipment issues to supervisors.
- Supervise and instruct apprentices and helpers.
- Manage time effectively and assist with safety administration duties.
Position Qualifications
- Licensed electrician OR 3-7 years of related experience or equivalent knowledge.
Working Conditions
- Use of PPE required (hard hat, vest, eye protection, safety boots).
- Work indoors and outdoors, exposed to weather elements.
- Physically able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Must pass drug, alcohol, background screening.
