Kennel Assistant
Department: Boarding

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Compensation: $12.00 / hour
DescriptionCobb Animal Clinic is a trusted veterinary facility dedicated to providing exceptional care for pets through our veterinary, grooming, and boarding services. Our mission is to create a safe, loving environment where pets can thrive. We are currently seeking passionate, dependable individuals to join our team of pet care professionals.
We are looking for a full-time Kennel Assistant to support our boarding services. The ideal candidate has a genuine love for animals, a strong work ethic, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.
- Full-time position
- Shifts between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Holidays required
, including (but not limited to):- New Year’s Day, Easter, July 4th, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day
- Animal Management
- Safely supervise and care for groups of dogs and cats
- Ensure pets’ comfort, safety, and well-being during playtime and rest periods
- Sanitation & Cleaning
- Maintain a clean and hygienic facility by routinely cleaning kennels, play areas, and common spaces
- This role includes a significant amount of cleaning and sanitation duties
- Feeding & Basic Care
- Feed, water, and provide daily care for animals according to veterinary instructions and dietary protocols
- Health Monitoring
- Observe pets for signs of illness, stress, or injury
- Promptly report concerns to veterinary staff or management
- Record Keeping
- Assist with accurate documentation of feeding schedules, health observations, and behavioral notes
- Client Interaction
- Provide excellent customer service
- Communicate clearly and professionally with pet owners regarding their pets’ care and well-being
- Experience
- Previous experience in a kennel, daycare, or veterinary hospital preferred
- Experience with both dogs and cats is highly desirable
- Passion for Animal Care
- Genuine love for animals and commitment to their health and happiness

- Dependable, punctual, and able to handle the physical demands of the job
- Attention to Detail
- Strong focus on cleanliness and maintaining a sanitary environment
- Communication Skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
- Comfortable interacting with clients in a professional, friendly manner
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for most of the workday
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
